Sizing & Dimensions
What are the chair and bed dimensions for each size?
Here are the full dimensions for every size — chair footprint first, then the bed when fully unzipped and laid flat. Weights are shipping weight for the Original:
- Youth — Chair: 36" × 36" | Bed: 38" × 54" × 8" | Weight: 12 lbs
- Full — Chair: 44" × 44" | Bed: 54" × 74" × 10" | Weight: 21 lbs | Box: 14" × 14" × 33" (vacuum packed)
- Queen — Chair: 48" × 48" | Bed: 60" × 80" × 10" | Weight: 29 lbs | Box: 16" × 16" × 38.5"
- King — Chair: 55" × 55" | Bed: 76" × 80" × 10" | Weight: 41 lbs | Box: 19" × 19" × 46"
The chair footprint and the bed footprint are very different — measure both spaces before ordering. The bed lays flat on the floor, so a Queen needs a clear 5' × 6'7" area.
Which size is right for me?
Here's how to pick the right fit:
- Full — One adult or a child. Perfect for smaller rooms, dorms, or offices. The bed is twin-ish (54" × 74").
- Queen — One adult who loves room to stretch, or occasional two-person use. Standard Queen bed when open.
- King — Two adults comfortably. The most popular size. King bed dimensions when flat.
- Youth — Kids 3–12. Opens to a twin-style bed. Great for playrooms and sleepovers.
When in doubt, size up — the foam is fully adjustable, so you can always remove filling to soften it. Call our team at (352) 332-1837 if you'd like a personal recommendation.
How much does each size weigh? Is it easy to move?
Shipping weight, Original — Full: 21 lbs | Queen: 29 lbs | King: 41 lbs | Youth: 12 lbs.
Our chairs are heavier than typical beanbags because we use high-density furniture-grade foam — the same stuff that keeps its shape for years instead of going flat. The NEST models have a built-in side handle to make moving easier. Most people scoot them across hardwood floors without lifting.
If you have mobility concerns, the Full or Queen sizes are the most manageable.
What are the dimensions of the Giant Bean Bag Chair?
The Giant Bean Bag is made from two 72-inch circles attached by a 24-inch gusset. When laid flat it measures approximately 72" in diameter and is perfect as an oversized lounging surface for the whole family. Box dimensions: 20" × 20" × 45" (vacuum packed). Ships pre-filled.
After delivery, plan for 3–5 days of expansion time. The foam chunks break apart as you use it and the shape fills out beautifully.
How tall is it when set up as a chair?
Cordaroys chairs sit low to the ground — this is part of the design. The Classic shape sits roughly 24–28" tall at its highest point depending on size and how the foam has settled. It's a true floor lounger: you sink into it rather than perching on top.
The NEST sits slightly higher because of the crescent backrest, giving it a low-recliner feel with built-in back and neck support. Still much lower than a sofa, but more structured than the Classic.
No ceiling concerns — even the King won't come close to a standard 8-foot ceiling. The low profile also makes rooms feel more open, which is a nice bonus in smaller spaces.
Does it require any assembly?
Zero assembly required. Pull it out of the box, unzip the cover to let the foam breathe, and you're done. No tools, no hardware, no instruction booklet. The NEST comes with the crescent moon pillow already loaded inside the cover — nothing to attach.
The only "work" is the expansion period: the foam ships vacuum-compressed and takes 3–7 days to fully fluff out. Set it somewhere you want it to live and let it expand on its own.
How It Converts
How does it convert from a chair to a bed?
It's genuinely simple — no assembly required:
- Chair → Bed: Unzip the outer cover and pull out the inner foam bed. Lay it flat on the floor. Done.
- Bed → Chair: Fold the mattress in half lengthwise, then fold again, and zip it back into the cover.
The inner bed has two handles to help you maneuver it. Most people can do the full conversion in under 60 seconds once they've done it a time or two.
When converting back to a chair, the foam needs a moment to re-compress. If the cover feels tight, try removing a bit of foam with a Booster Pack in reverse (removing foam), or just give it a day to settle.
How long does it take to fluff up after delivery?
When it first arrives it will look lumpy and a little underwhelming — that's completely normal. The foam is shredded chunks that were vacuum-compressed for shipping. Give it 3–7 days to fully expand.
To speed things up:
- Massage and scrub the clumps through the liner to break them apart
- Flip it several times in bed form to evenly distribute the foam
- Let it sit in bed form (laid flat) as long as possible — the longer it rests flat, the firmer and more even it becomes
If after a week it still feels uneven, a Booster Pack ($30 for 6–7 lbs of foam) will fill it out.
Can two people sleep on it?
Yes — with the right size:
- Queen — Comfortable for one adult, snug for two, great for a parent and child
- King — Comfortably fits two adults. King bed dimensions (76" × 80") when open.
The foam is dense enough that two people won't roll into each other the way a traditional foam mattress might sag. You can also add foam via Booster Packs to increase firmness if needed.
Is it good for everyday sleeping or just occasional use?
We position Cordaroys as a step above a guest mattress or air bed — great for the occasional overnight, a college dorm, or a dedicated guest room. Many customers sleep on them nightly with no issues, and we have people who've completely replaced their mattresses with ours.
For best long-term performance: flip the mattress regularly (like you would any foam bed), and keep a Waterproof Protector on the inner liner to extend its life. Kids especially do great sleeping on them every night.
Pro tip: The longer you leave it in bed form (rather than converting back and forth daily), the firmer and more sleep-worthy it becomes.
My foam arrived lumpy and clumped — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong — this is completely normal and means your foam is fresh. The shredded chunks get compressed together during shipping and clump in transit. Here's how to break them in:
- Scrub and massage the clumps through the outer liner with both hands — work them aggressively to break the chunks apart
- Flip the bed several times in full open-bed form to redistribute the fill evenly
- Let it rest flat — leaving it fully open overnight (or for a few days) is the single most effective thing. Gravity does the work for you.
Within 3–7 days of normal use, the foam breaks in beautifully. If it still feels uneven after a full week, a Booster Pack of fresh foam ($30) fills any thin spots.
Can I use regular bed sheets on the inner mattress?
Yes — and it's a great idea if you use it as a regular sleep surface. Standard fitted sheets work well:
- Full chair (54"×74"×10") — Standard full-size fitted sheets fit; twin XL sheets also work
- Queen chair (60"×80"×10") — Standard queen fitted sheets fit perfectly
- King chair (76"×80"×10") — Standard king fitted sheets fit
The 10" mattress depth is on the shallower end, so standard-depth sheets (not deep-pocket) actually tend to stay on better and tuck more cleanly. Since the mattress sits flat on the floor, you only need a fitted sheet on top — no flat sheet underneath needed.
Best combo: a Waterproof Protector under the fitted sheet to keep the foam clean, and a comfortable cotton sheet on top. Works exactly like a regular bed setup.
Can I make a Cordaroys Pillow Lounger into a bean bag?
Yes! Pillow Loungers can be turned into bean bag chairs by purchasing any Original or NEST queen-sized cover.
Is the Cordaroys Giant bean bag convertible?
Not exactly. It doesn't transform into a bed like Cordaroys other bean bags. However, it's large enough to sleep on - it's 7 feet wide.
What makes the Lounger bean bag convertible?
Cordaroys Lounger pillows convert into a full-sized bed when the cover is on. If you remove the cover, it'll expand into a queen-sized bed.
Materials & Foam Safety
What is the outer cover made of?
All Cordaroys covers are 100% polyester. The specific texture and feel varies by fabric:
- Plush Corduroy — Soft, slightly ribbed velvet-like texture. Our #1 seller. Warm and cozy, great year-round.
- Terry Corduroy — Lighter, more breathable version of corduroy. Great for warmer climates.
- Chenille — Ultra-soft, slightly chunky knit texture. Very cozy, similar to a chenille throw blanket.
- Faux Fur / Bunny Fur — Incredibly soft faux fur. Luxurious feel, great for bedrooms.
- Chinchilla — Silvery-cool grey faux fur. One of our most popular statement pieces.
- Cloud — Ultrasoft, fluffy texture. Feels like sleeping in a cloud.
- Outdoor — Weather-resistant, UV-resistant polyester. Built for patios and pool areas.
All covers are machine washable in cold water on gentle cycle, low heat dry. See the Washing & Care section for full instructions.
What is the foam made of? Is it safe / non-toxic?
We use CertiPUR-US® certified polyurethane foam — the same type found in high-end furniture and mattresses, just shredded rather than one solid piece. CertiPUR-US certified means the foam is:
- Made without ozone depleters
- Made without PBDE, TDCPP, or TCEP ("Tris") flame retardants
- Made without mercury, lead, or other heavy metals
- Made without formaldehyde
- Made without phthalates regulated by the CPSC
- Low VOC emissions for indoor air quality
Our foam does not contain natural rubber latex. It is not CertiPUR foam free of all chemicals, but it meets or exceeds all CPSC safety standards.
This is the same foam that pole vaulters land on. It's built for durability, safety, and comfort — and it won't go flat on you the way polystyrene beanbag fill does.
Why does it smell when I first open it? Is it harmful?
New Cordaroys chairs have a mild off-gassing period — this is a sign you've received the freshest foam possible! The same thing happens with any brand-new sofa or mattress. The odor dissipates within a few days.
To speed it up:
- Air it out in a well-ventilated room or near an open window
- Use an odor-eliminating spray like Febreze
The foam is CertiPUR-US certified and contains no formaldehyde. It's the same foam used in almost all sofas — if standard couch cushions are fine for your family, so is this.
Does it contain latex or allergens?
Our foam does not contain natural rubber latex to our knowledge. We use shredded polyurethane foam, not memory foam or latex foam.
The covers are 100% polyester — no wool, down, or natural fiber blends. The inner liner is a cotton/poly blend.
If you have a known foam or chemical allergy and are concerned, we recommend consulting with a healthcare provider before purchasing. You can also reach us at customerservice@cordaroys.com for a detailed material spec sheet.
Does it meet fire safety standards? Is it California Prop 65 compliant?
Our foam is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it's made without the restricted flame retardants regulated under California's safety standards (no PBDE, TDCPP, or TCEP). It also contains no formaldehyde and has low VOC emissions for indoor air quality.
Our products meet or exceed all CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) standards for upholstered furniture foam.
For California Prop 65 specifics — Prop 65 requires warnings for products containing chemicals above certain thresholds known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. For our current Prop 65 compliance notice, contact us at customerservice@cordaroys.com and we'll send the most up-to-date documentation.
What's inside a Cordaroys Giant Bean Bag?
Cordaroys bean bag chairs are filled with Certi-Pur-US foam for extra comfort.

Which fabrics are easiest to clean?
All of our covers are machine washable on cold/gentle cycle. But for quick spot cleaning and everyday spills, the fabrics vary:
- Easiest to spot-clean: Outdoor, Plush Corduroy, Corduroy, Terry Corduroy. A damp cloth lifts most spills cleanly.
- More care required: Faux Fur, Bunny Fur, Cloud — these trap particles and show marks more easily. They machine wash fine but need a bit more attention day-to-day.
- Chenille: Washes well, but aggressive rubbing can disturb the pile texture. Blot stains rather than scrubbing.
For households with kids, pets, or high traffic, stick to the corduroy family (Plush, Regular, or Terry) — they're the most forgiving for spills and daily wear.
Can I buy a replacement cover in a different fabric than I originally ordered?
Yes — replacement covers are sold separately and you can choose any fabric or color we currently carry, regardless of what you originally ordered. It's one of the best features of the design: you can essentially redecorate by swapping covers.
Just make sure to order the same size (Full, Queen, or King) as your existing chair. The covers are sized to the foam liner, not interchangeable across sizes.
Browse replacement covers at cordaroys.com or contact us at customerservice@cordaroys.com if you need help finding the right fit.
Washing & Care
Can I machine wash the cover?
Yes! The outer cover is machine washable:
- Wash in cold water on a gentle/delicate cycle
- No bleach
- Tumble dry on low heat
- Do not iron
For the NEST cover: same cold/gentle wash instructions. The inner liner can also be washed cold, but air dry only — machine drying the liner can damage the waterproof membrane.
⚠️ The inner foam bed should NOT go in the washer — it won't fit, and it's not designed to be submerged. Treat it like a regular mattress: spot clean only, or use a Waterproof Protector to keep it clean.
My pet had an accident on it. What do I do?
Don't panic — you've got options depending on how deep it went:
If it soaked only the cover: Remove and machine wash the cover in cold water, gentle cycle. Easy.
If it soaked through to the inner liner:
- Dump the foam out of the liner
- Wash the liner in cold water — air dry only (machine heat can damage the lining)
- Refill with Booster Packs of fresh foam ($30 each, 6–7 lbs per box). Most chairs need 3–5 boxes to refill.
If it soaked the foam itself: The foam will likely need replacing. Order a new Bed Only insert — you keep your cover and just swap the inner bed.
Prevent this in the future with our Waterproof Protector — it wraps around the inner bed and is machine washable. A must-have if you have pets or kids.
Is the inner mattress/liner washable?
The inner liner (the zippered bag that holds the foam) can be washed — but must be air dried. Do not put it in the dryer; the heat will melt the waterproof membrane.
The inner bed (liner + foam together) cannot go in a washing machine — it won't fit and isn't designed to be submerged. Think of it like a regular mattress: spot clean spills immediately, or protect it proactively with our Waterproof Protector.
If your inner bed has been significantly soaked, contact us at customerservice@cordaroys.com — in many cases we can help find a solution.
How do I spot clean a small stain without removing the whole cover?
For small stains you don't need to remove the cover at all:
- Act fast — blot (don't rub) with a clean cloth to absorb as much as possible
- Mix a small amount of mild dish soap with cold water; dab onto the stain with a clean cloth
- Rinse by dabbing with a fresh damp cloth, then let air dry
- For tougher stains (food, grease), an enzyme-based cleaner or a small amount of OxiClean works well
For a deeper clean, removing the cover and running it through the washing machine on cold/gentle is the most thorough option. The cover unzips and comes off in under a minute.
⚠️ Always use cold water — heat sets stains permanently. This applies to both spot cleaning and machine washing.
My new chair has a foam smell — is that normal and will it go away?
Completely normal. New foam has a faint factory smell (similar to a new mattress or car seat) from the manufacturing process. It's harmless and dissipates on its own — typically within 3–7 days in a ventilated space.
To speed it up:
- Unzip the cover and leave the inner liner open in a well-ventilated room for a day or two
- Place the chair near an open window if possible — fresh air is the most effective solution
- Avoid using the chair in a closed, unventilated room for the first few days
If the smell is unusually strong or chemical after a week, reach out to us — that's outside the norm and we'd want to look into it.
Can I put a slipcover or furniture protector over the outside?
Yes — a loose throw or slipcover works fine over the outer cover for extra protection. Just keep in mind that the bean bag isn't a standard rectangular shape, so off-the-shelf slipcovers designed for sofas won't fit cleanly. Most customers just toss a large blanket or throw over it.
For the inner liner (the part that holds the foam), we sell a Waterproof Protector specifically designed to fit it. This is the most effective protection layer — it stops spills, pet accidents, and sweat from ever reaching the foam, and it's machine washable. We'd recommend this over any external slipcover for day-to-day protection.
Order the Waterproof Protector in the same size as your bean bag (Full, Queen, or King) — it's sized to fit the inner liner exactly.
How do I clean a Cordaroys Giant Bean Bag?
The outer covers are machine-washable and dryer-safe. Inner liners should be spot cleaned only. We recommend using a waterproof protector for extra protection.
Covers, Footstools & Add-Ons
Can I buy just the cover, or just the inner bed separately?
Yes! Everything is available separately:
- Covers only — Shop all sizes and fabrics at cordaroys.com/collections/cover-only. Mix and match to refresh your chair's look.
- Bed Only insert — The inner foam bed, without a cover. Perfect if your foam needs replacing.
- Booster Packs — 6–7 lbs of fresh foam, $30 each. Add firmness without replacing the whole bed.
- Waterproof Protector — Wraps the inner bed and is machine washable. Available in Full, Queen, and King.
Search "booster pack," "bed only," or "cover only" on our website to find exactly what you need. Call us at (352) 332-1837 if you're not sure which size to order.
My chair feels flat or saggy. Can I add more foam?
Absolutely — this is one of the best things about Cordaroys. The foam is fully adjustable.
To add firmness: Order Booster Packs ($30 each, 6–7 lbs). For most chairs that have gone soft over time, 1–2 Booster Packs will restore it. Open the liner zipper, pour the foam in, re-zip, and break in the new foam by massaging it through the liner.
To reduce firmness: Unzip the liner and remove some foam into a bag. Store it in case you want to add it back later.
For best long-term results, flip the inner bed every few weeks to evenly distribute the foam — just like you'd rotate a regular mattress.
Do I need a Waterproof Protector? What does it do?
The Waterproof Protector wraps around the inner foam bed (inside the cover) and protects it from spills, pet accidents, and sweat. It features a waterproof top and bottom with breathable side panels.
It's not required, but it's strongly recommended if you have pets, kids, or plan to use your Cordaroys as a regular sleeping surface. It's machine washable, and it can save you from having to replace the entire inner bed if an accident happens.
Available in Full, Queen, and King sizes. Find it at cordaroys.com by searching "waterproof protector."
How many Booster Packs do I need to refill my chair?
Each Booster Pack contains 6–7 lbs of shredded foam ($30 each). How many you need depends on the situation:
- Adding firmness to a saggy chair — 1–2 packs usually restores a well-used chair to like-new feel
- Replacing all foam after a pet accident — Full: ~3 boxes | Queen: ~4 boxes | King: ~5+ boxes
- Topping off a new chair that feels thin — 1 box is typically enough for the break-in period
Start with 1–2 boxes, let them fully break in over a few days (massage through the liner, flip several times), then order more if needed. You can always remove foam if it gets too firm — just unzip the liner, pull some out, and save it in a bag.
Booster Packs are the most cost-effective way to completely refresh a chair that's gone soft. Search "booster pack" on cordaroys.com.
How can Cordaroys bean bags be customized?
Cordaroys bean bags are customized by swapping covers with different colors and fabrics. You can also purchase a foam booster pack to make the chair firmer.
What is a Cordaroys footstool pouf?
The Cordaroys footstool is used to elevate your feet while reclining in a Cordaroys bean bag chair!
How long do Cordaroys footstools last?
Cordaroys footstools last 15+ years with proper care and are backed by our lifetime warranty.
Can Cordaroys footstool covers be changed?
Yes! Just like our bean bags, additional footstool covers are available for purchase.
Can I use a different bean bag cover on my bean bag?
Yes - covers just need to match the size of your insert. If you have a Queen-size insert, you can use any Queen-size cover, like the Original or NEST.
What's the difference between an ottoman and a footstool?
A footstool is the broad term for any piece of furniture designed to rest your feet. An ottoman is a type of footstool; it is typically firmer and can double as seating, a coffee table, and may include hidden storage.
Setup & First Use
How does it arrive and is it ready to use out of the box?
Cordaroys ships compressed in a box — the chair is vacuum-compressed to fit in a surprisingly compact package. Here's what to expect:
- Unbox it: Open the outer cover, pull out the inner foam liner, and remove the compression packaging. The foam starts expanding immediately.
- Initial expansion: The chair will reach about 80% of its full size within the first few hours. Full expansion typically takes 24–72 hours.
- Assembly: None required — just zip the outer cover around the inner liner and you're done. The whole setup takes about 2 minutes.
For best results, open the chair in the room where you plan to use it — moving it before the foam fully expands is easier than after.
My chair feels flat or firm right after arrival — is something wrong?
Completely normal — and one of the most common questions we get after delivery. The foam was compressed for shipping and needs time to fully re-expand. It can feel quite firm or flatter than expected for the first day or two.
The break-in timeline:
- Day 1: Noticeably expanding but still somewhat dense. This is expected.
- Days 2–3: Most of the expansion has occurred. The chair starts feeling like itself.
- Days 3–7: Full loft and softness. The foam settles into its final feel.
If after 7–10 days the chair still feels significantly flat or hard in spots, contact us — that's outside the normal range and we'll make it right.
How do I put the cover on and take it off?
It's easier than it looks. The outer cover has a large zipper that runs around the base of the chair:
- To put on: Open the zipper fully, set the cover fabric-side down, place the foam liner inside, then zip it up starting at one corner and working around. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.
- To remove for washing: Unzip the cover, lift it off the foam liner, and wash according to the care label (cold, gentle cycle). The liner stays in place.
For the NEST model specifically, the outer cover also zips off separately — it's designed for even easier cover changes. The zip-off outer shell is the NEST's signature feature.
Tip: Flip the cover inside-out first, then pull it over the foam like a pillowcase — many customers find this method faster and easier than trying to wrangle the cover right-side-out.
Is my zipper broken? I can't open the liner
It isn't broken — it's a safety feature. The zipper pull is removed from the inner liner on purpose, as a child-safety precaution so kids can't open the liner and get to the foam.
To open it, slide a paperclip into the zipper slider and use the paperclip as a pull. Zip it closed the same way when you're done, then remove the paperclip and keep it somewhere safe.
How long does a Giant Bean Bag take to expand after unboxing?
The foam is vacuum-packed. Let it expand for 24-48 hours or manually fluff it to speed up the process.
Weight & Capacity
Is there a weight limit?
There is no formal weight limit. Our foam is the same high-density polyurethane foam used in pole vaulting landing pads — it's built to compress and recover, not collapse.
One of our team members is well over 260 lbs and sleeps on a King very comfortably. The foam is fully adjustable — you can always add Booster Packs to increase firmness for larger or heavier users.
For larger adults, we recommend the King size for the most comfortable experience — more surface area means the weight distributes more evenly.
Will a heavier person sink to the floor?
It depends on the person and the firmness of the chair. Our foam is high-density and significantly firmer than cheap beanbag fill — most adults won't bottom out.
If you're concerned about firmness, the fix is simple: add a Booster Pack or two of foam to increase density. You can dial in exactly the firmness you want. Chairs can also feel softer on the first few uses as the foam breaks in — keep using it and it firms up beautifully.
Is it good for people with back pain?
As a chair: The bean bag shape conforms to your body and distributes weight evenly — many people with back issues find it more comfortable than a rigid sofa or hard chair for lounging. The NEST's crescent backrest provides lumbar and neck support that the Classic round shape doesn't have, which makes it a better option for people with back concerns.
As a sleep surface: The foam is medium-firm and adjustable. You can remove fill for a softer feel or add Booster Packs for more support. People with back pain generally prefer firmer support — start with a full fill and adjust from there.
⚠️ Cordaroys is not a medical device. If you have a diagnosed back condition, consult your doctor before using it as a primary sleep surface. Many of our customers with back issues love it — but everyone is different.
How do I move a Cordaroys Giant Bean Bag?
We suggest moving the chair with two people due to its weight of 63 pounds. For moving, using a vacuum-sealing bag is recommended to reduce the chair's size.
Are Cordaroys Giant Bean Bags supportive?
Yes, Cordaroys Giant Bean Bags are HUGE! These chairs can fit and support a family of four comfortably!
How much does a Full Bean Bag Chair weigh?
The Cordaroys Original Full chair weighs 21 lbs, and the Full NEST weighs 24 lbs.
How much does a Queen Bean Bag Chair weigh?
The Cordaroys Original Queen chair weighs 29 lbs, and the Queen NEST weighs 34 lbs.
How much does a King Bean Bag Chair weigh?
The Cordaroys Original King chair weighs 41 lbs, and the King NEST weighs 44 lbs.
How much does a Giant Bean Bag Chair weigh?
The Cordaroys Giant Bean Bag Chair weighs 63 lbs.
Comparing Our Chairs
Is it a soft, sinky bean bag or more of a supportive chair?
Supportive. Cordaroys are filled with shredded furniture-grade foam, not beads — the chair holds you up like a cushioned lounge instead of swallowing you the way a classic bead bag does. Some people expect sinky and are surprised by the structure; most end up preferring it, especially in bed mode.
It arrives compressed and firms up as it fluffs — give it a few days of use before judging the feel.
What's the difference between the Classic and the NEST?
Both have a bed inside. Here's what makes them different:
- Classic — The original round beanbag shape. No frills, simple and iconic. Sits low to the ground. Perfect if you love that classic oversized beanbag look.
- NEST — The upgraded experience. Has a built-in crescent moon pillow in the cover that gives it a recliner-style shape with neck and back support. Also features two side pockets and a carry handle. Looks more like a piece of furniture than a beanbag.
Not sure which to choose? The NEST is generally preferred for living rooms and media rooms (it feels more "chair-like"). The Classic is great for playrooms, kids' spaces, and anywhere you want maximum casual comfort.
Both convert to a full bed the same way. The NEST pillow is removable if you ever want the rounder Classic look — you're not locked in to either style.
Does the NEST come with the crescent pillow included?
Yes! The NEST cover has a built-in compartment that holds its own crescent moon pillow. When you order any NEST chair, the cover comes with the crescent pillow already inside — it's part of what makes the NEST look and feel like a recliner.
If you purchased a NEST cover separately (without the full chair), the pillow is included with the cover. If your order arrived without the pillow, reach out to customerservice@cordaroys.com and we'll get it sorted.

For Pet Owners
Are the Forever Dog Beds washable?
Yes! The outer cover of the Forever Dog Bed is removable and machine washable. Cold water, gentle cycle, low heat dry.
The Waterproof version (Terry Corduroy) has a waterproof lining — wash the cover on cold/gentle and air dry to protect the waterproof membrane.
The inner foam insert is not machine washable but can be spot cleaned. If it gets soaked through (pet accident), you can order a replacement insert from our website.
What Forever Dog Bed size is right for my dog?
We offer 30", 40", and 50" Forever Dog Beds:
- 30" — Small to medium dogs (up to ~40 lbs). Corgis, French Bulldogs, smaller mixes.
- 40" — Medium to large dogs (40–80 lbs). Labs, Golden Retrievers, Border Collies.
- 50" — Large to extra-large dogs (80 lbs+). Great Danes, Mastiffs, or multi-dog households.
When in doubt, size up — dogs love to stretch out, and a bigger bed is always better than one they overflow. The 40" Terry Corduroy and 50" Terry Corduroy are our two best-selling pet bed SKUs.
Will my dog claw or chew through the cover?
Our pet bed covers are designed to be well-used and beaten up — we use them for our own dogs at the office and they hold up great through rough daily use. The polyester construction is more durable than natural fiber covers and resists moderate clawing.
That said, determined chewers can get through any cover. If you have a known heavy chewer, we'd recommend the Terry Corduroy fabric — it's the most durable option in our pet line. Replacement covers are available separately so you never need to buy an entirely new bed.
Can my cat or dog lounge on the bean bag chair?
Absolutely — and they will. Pets are drawn to Cordaroys chairs immediately. Here's what to know for pet-heavy households:
- For moderate pet use: All fabrics handle occasional lounging well. Polyester is significantly more durable than natural-fiber alternatives.
- For homes with scratchers or clawers: Terry Corduroy holds up best. Faux fur and Cloud fabrics will eventually show snag marks from repeated clawing — cosmetic rather than structural, but worth knowing upfront.
- For accident protection: A Waterproof Protector on the inner liner is the single best investment for pet owners. It prevents accidents from ever reaching the foam and is machine washable.
If you want a dedicated pet piece, our Forever Dog Beds are sized and priced for dogs. But plenty of customers just share the chair with their pets and love it.
My waterproof dog bed cover is crinkly and noisy — is that normal?
Yes, completely normal. The waterproof lining creates a slight rustling sound when your dog moves — the same as any waterproof mattress protector you'd find in the human bedding world. This is by design.
Most dogs simply don't notice or quickly get used to it. If yours seems bothered by it:
- Add a soft blanket or throw on top — it muffles the sound and gives them an extra cozy layer
- The sound softens slightly over time as the membrane breaks in with regular use
If noise is a dealbreaker from the start, the standard (non-waterproof) Plush Fur Dog Bed is virtually silent and nearly as easy to clean — just machine wash the cover cold.
The filling in my Forever Dog Bed is getting flat — can I add more?
Yes — our Booster Packs ($30 each, 6–7 lbs of shredded foam) work in dog beds too. Unzip the liner, pour the foam in, and re-zip. For a 40" dog bed that's gone flat, typically 1 box restores it. The 50" may need 2 boxes.
You can also contact us about dog-bed-specific fill options:
- Email: customerservice@cordaroys.com
- Phone: (352) 332-1837
Like our chairs, dog bed foam settles with regular use. A quick top-up every year or two keeps the bed supportive and fresh — much cheaper than buying a whole new bed.
Are Cordaroys dog beds waterproof?
Yes! Cordaroys dog beds utilize a waterproof cover to protect the liner and foam inside.
Kids & Families
What age is the Bambino / Youth Chair for?
The Youth Chair (also called the Bambino in some styles) is designed for kids roughly ages 3–12, though older kids and even petite adults love them too.
It converts to a twin-size sleeping surface (~38" × 54") — perfect for sleepovers, playroom lounging, and being the coolest piece of furniture at any kid's birthday party.
The foam is the same CertiPUR-US certified foam as our adult chairs — safe, non-toxic, and built to last through years of enthusiastic kid use.
Is it safe for kids with sensory needs?
Many families with children who have sensory processing needs, autism, or occupational therapy requirements use Cordaroys chairs with great success. The deep-pressure input from the enveloping foam can be very calming.
The foam is CertiPUR-US certified (no formaldehyde, low VOC), and the polyester covers are non-irritating for most sensory sensitivities. The softer fabrics — Cloud, Bunny Fur, or Plush Corduroy — tend to work best for tactile seekers.
If you have specific safety or therapeutic questions, we'd recommend consulting your child's OT, and reaching out to us directly at customerservice@cordaroys.com for any material specs you need.
Is it a good gift? Can I store it in the box until the holidays?
It's one of the best gifts we've ever seen given — the unboxing moment is always a hit.
That said, we recommend opening it as soon as possible rather than storing it long-term in the box. The longer the foam stays compressed, the longer it takes to fully expand once opened. If you do store it, just plan for a longer break-in period (up to 2 weeks vs. the usual 3–7 days).
We typically run our biggest sales around Christmas — so if you're buying early, you might actually save more by waiting and ordering closer to the holiday.
What age range is the Bambino designed for?
The Bambino is sized for kids roughly ages 3–10. It's a bean bag chair (not a convertible) — smaller and lower to the ground than the adult sizes, perfect as a reading nook, gaming seat, or bedroom accent.
- Minimum age: We recommend 3+ for unsupervised use. Younger toddlers can use it with adult supervision, but the foam fill and zipper are not designed with under-2 safety standards.
- Maximum age: No hard cutoff — it's a matter of fit and comfort. Many tweens and smaller teens enjoy it; larger kids will simply want to size up to a Full.
The Bambino uses the same high-quality foam and fabric as the adult line — just a smaller footprint. It does not convert into a bed.
Can a child use the bean bag as a regular sleeping surface?
Yes — the Full, Queen, and King all convert into a flat sleeping surface, and kids love sleeping on them. A few things to know:
- The Bambino does not convert — it's a chair only. The convertible feature is on the Full, Queen, and King sizes.
- For nightly use as a primary bed, the Full converts to a 54"×54" sleeping area — comfortable for a child through early teens. Most families buy it as a fun room piece that doubles as a guest/sleepover bed.
- The foam is soft and contouring, not orthopaedic-firm like a traditional mattress. For kids who prefer a firmer surface, this should be factored in.
The Full is the most popular size for kids' rooms — compact enough to fit most spaces as a chair, and plenty big enough for a child to sleep on flat.
Does the Cordaroys Bambino chair convert?
No, our Cordaroys Bambino chair is not convertible. We did this intentionally to make the Bambino even more kid-friendly while maintaining the same quality!
What is the Bambino chair by Cordaroys?
The Bambino is a kid-sized lounge chair designed for children ages 2-7. It is lightweight, compact, easy to move, and comfortable, giving kids their own cozy spot!
Is the Bambino chair safe for toddlers?
Yes! The Bambino chair is designed with low height, stable construction, soft materials, and kid-friendly zippers, making it safe for younger children.
Can kids move the Bambino chair on their own?
Yes! The Bambino chair is only 12 pounds, making it easy to move wherever the fun is happening!
Is the Bambino chair easy to clean?
We recommend spot cleaning your Bambino chair as needed.
How does the Bambino differ from the Original or NEST?
Unlike our convertible chairs, the Bambino is designed with younger kids in mind. It's lightweight, easy to move, and made for everyday lounging fun - all with a smaller footprint and a playful design.
Is the Cordaroys Bambino a bean bag chair?
Yes! The Bambino chair is a premium bean bag chair for kids. The cloud feel comes from Certi-Pur-US foam, which is much comfier than traditional beads that you may find in a traditional bean bag.
Crash Pads & Sensory
What is a crash pad?
A crash pad is a large, soft, cushioned mat designed to give kids, especially those with sensory needs, a safe, comfortable space to jump, roll, tumble, lie down, or otherwise move with support.
What are Cordaroys crash pads made of?
Cordaroys crash pads are filled with Certi-Pur-US foam for extra comfort.
How long does a Cordaroys crash pad last?
With proper care, Cordaroys crash pads last 15+ years and are backed by our lifetime warranty.
How are Cordaroys crash pads used?
Crash pads are used for play and sensory input, helping kids channel their high energy into a safe, cushioned landing space. They are often used in homes, therapy rooms, and classrooms.
Are bean bags good for ADHD?
Bean bags can help individuals with ADHD by providing calming sensory input and a comfortable space that supports focus and relaxation.
Are bean bags good for autism?
Bean bags are often beneficial for individuals with autism because they offer gentle pressure and a secure, cozy environment that can support sensory regulation.
Are crash pads good for ADHD?
Crash pads can be helpful for ADHD by giving a safe outlet for physical energy and promoting self-regulation through movement and deep pressure.
Are crash pads good for autism?
Crash pads are commonly used for autism because they provide a safe space for sensory play and deep-pressure input, which can help with calming and regulation.
Outdoor Use
Can I use my Cordaroys outside?
It depends on the fabric:
- Outdoor fabric: Yes — this is what it's made for. UV-resistant, weather-tolerant, and easy to wipe clean. Built for patios, pool decks, and covered outdoor spaces.
- All other fabrics (Corduroy, Plush Corduroy, Faux Fur, etc.): These are indoor fabrics only. Prolonged outdoor exposure will cause fading, moisture damage, and mildew. Occasional outdoor use on a dry day is fine, but leaving them outside is not.
If you want a chair that lives outside permanently or gets used poolside regularly, order the Outdoor fabric from the start — it's specifically engineered for that use case.
Is the Outdoor fabric waterproof? What happens if it gets rained on?
The Outdoor fabric is water-resistant, not fully waterproof. Light rain and splash will bead off the cover surface. However, the foam inside is not waterproof, and prolonged or heavy rain exposure can cause moisture to work through the cover seams and saturate the foam.
Best practices for the Outdoor chair:
- Bring it in or cover it during heavy rainstorms or when not in use for extended periods
- Store it indoors or under cover during winter months
- If it gets wet, stand it upright to drain and let it air dry in the sun before storing
- Adding a Waterproof Protector on the inner liner provides an additional moisture barrier
Will the color fade in direct sunlight?
The Outdoor fabric is UV-treated to resist fading. Under normal use (a covered patio, shaded deck, or pool area with some direct sun), you can expect good color retention for 2–3 seasons of regular outdoor use.
For indoor fabrics placed near a window or used outside temporarily — yes, extended direct sunlight will cause gradual fading over time. This is true of virtually any textile. It's one more reason to choose the Outdoor fabric if the chair will live in a sun-exposed area.
☀️ Tip: Even Outdoor fabric benefits from being stored or covered when not in active use. The UV protection extends the life — it doesn't make it completely immune to prolonged, unprotected sun exposure.
Hammock
Does the hammock come with straps or hardware to hang it?
Our Brazilian cotton hammock comes with the hanging hardware you need to get set up. What's included:
- Hanging straps / rope: Traditional Brazilian-style end loops for attaching to trees, posts, or a stand
- Hooks or carabiners: For connecting the loops to your hanging point
For indoor or patio installation between walls or posts, you'll need appropriate wall anchors rated for the weight load — not included, as mounting hardware varies by wall type (stud, masonry, etc.).
If you have questions about what's in the box for your specific order, reach out to us at customerservice@cordaroys.com and we'll confirm exactly what's included.
What are the hammock dimensions and how much weight does it hold?
Our Brazilian cotton hammock is generously sized for comfortable lounging:
- Fabric bed size: Approximately 55" wide × 78" long — wide enough to lie diagonally, which is the most comfortable position
- Overall hanging length: ~120–130" from loop to loop (including the end ropes)
- Weight capacity: Up to 450 lbs — suitable for one adult or two kids sharing
Brazilian-style hammocks are designed to be hung with a slight sag (about 30° angle at the hanging points), which cradles you perfectly. When hung taut like a camping hammock, they're less comfortable and put more stress on the attachment points.
The ideal hanging distance between anchor points is about 10–15 feet apart for most spaces.
Hybrid Cooling Mattress
What are the mattress dimensions and what sheet pocket depth do I need?
The Hybrid Cooling Mattress is approximately 13 inches thick and comes in standard mattress sizes. Because it's thicker than a traditional mattress, you'll need deep-pocket sheets (at least 15" pocket depth, ideally 18"+) for a proper fit.
Standard sheets with 12–14" pocket depth will pop off the corners — this is the most common fit issue customers mention. Look for sheets labeled "deep pocket" or "extra deep pocket."
📐 Sheet shopping tip: A 13" mattress + any mattress protector or topper means 15"+ pocket depth is the minimum. 18" sheets give you comfortable room to tuck.
Is the Hybrid Cooling Mattress compatible with an adjustable base?
Yes — the Hybrid Cooling Mattress is designed to work with adjustable bases. The hybrid construction (foam + coil layers) is flexible enough to articulate with head and foot elevation without damage.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure your adjustable base is designed for a mattress in the 13" thickness range — most modern adjustable bases handle this fine
- Use a mattress retainer bar or non-slip pad if your base includes one — it prevents the mattress from shifting during adjustments
- The mattress also works on standard box springs, platform beds, slatted frames (slats no more than 3" apart), and the floor
How is the Hybrid Cooling Mattress different from the bean bag chair bed?
They serve very different purposes — both involve sleeping, but that's about where the similarity ends:
- Primary use — Bean Bag Chair Bed: Lounge chair that converts to a sleeping surface · Hybrid Cooling Mattress: Full-time primary mattress
- Construction — Bean Bag Chair Bed: Shredded foam fill inside fabric cover · Hybrid Cooling Mattress: Foam + coil hybrid, ~13" thick
- Support level — Bean Bag Chair Bed: Soft, contouring, casual · Hybrid Cooling Mattress: Structured, supportive, orthopedic-friendly
- Cooling — Bean Bag Chair Bed: Depends on fabric choice · Hybrid Cooling Mattress: Active cooling technology built in
- Best for — Bean Bag Chair Bed: Lounging, occasional guests, gaming rooms · Hybrid Cooling Mattress: Nightly sleep as your main bed
Many customers have both — the bean bag chair in a living room or bedroom for lounging, and the Hybrid Mattress on their bed frame for actual sleeping.
What is the Cordaroys hybrid mattress made of?
The Cordaroys hybrid mattress is made with Graphite Visco Gel with PCM, Copper-Infused Energex foam, micro-coil support grid, and a polyfoam support layer.

We don't always have a confirmed restock date, but we never want you to miss out. Here's what to do:

- Email us — Send the item name and your email to customerservice@cordaroys.com.
- Sign up for emails — Scroll to the bottom of cordaroys.com and subscribe for new product and restock announcements.
We typically run our biggest promotions around major holidays, so if you can wait, you may catch a great deal alongside the restock.
How long does shipping take?
Standard shipping typically arrives within 5–7 business days for orders within the contiguous US. Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number by email.
If you need it by a specific date, call us at (352) 332-1837 — our team can often arrange expedited shipping options.
Remember: after delivery, allow 3–7 days of expansion time for the foam before the chair looks its best.
What's your return policy?
We want you to love your Cordaroys. If something isn't right, our team almost always finds a solution before a return is ever needed — call or email us first.
- Email: customerservice@cordaroys.com
- Phone: (352) 332-1837
Most "return" situations are solved a better way: chair feels flat → Booster Pack. Wrong color → swap the cover. Something's defective → warranty replacement. We'd rather make it right than process a return.
My order arrived damaged or with something missing — what do I do?
Reach out right away and we'll take care of it:
- Email: customerservice@cordaroys.com — include your order number and a photo of the damage
- Phone: (352) 332-1837 — our team can resolve most issues on the first call
Damaged or defective items are covered and we'll ship a replacement. A quick photo (even a phone snapshot) helps us process the claim faster.
⚠️ If the shipping box itself arrived visibly crushed or torn, note it on the delivery receipt if possible and take photos before opening. This helps with carrier claims if needed.
Is there a warranty? What does it cover?
We stand behind our products. For exact warranty terms and coverage periods, contact us:
- Email: customerservice@cordaroys.com
- Phone: (352) 332-1837
In general, manufacturing defects (zipper failures, seam issues, foam that arrives defective) are covered. Normal wear over time, pet damage to covers, and accidental damage are not. When in doubt, reach out — we'd rather find a solution than lose a customer.
Our replacement parts program often makes warranty replacements unnecessary: if a zipper breaks, we can often sell you a replacement cover. If foam goes flat years later, a Booster Pack restores it for $30. Parts availability is a feature, not a workaround.
Do you offer free shipping?
We do! Spend $100 or more and shipping's on us to the contiguous U.S. Under $100? It's a flat $8.99 — no surprise fees, no weight-based pricing.
Do you have retail store locations?
Cordaroys has one brand retail showroom in Gainesville, FL, and is also carried in hundreds of furniture stores across the United States.
Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?
Yes. Cordaroys has a qualification process for resellers. Reach out to wholesale@cordaroys.com
Do you offer express shipping?
Yes, for an additional shipping cost at checkout. Standard shipping is free.
Help & Promotions
How can I get a discount or find the best price?
The best ways to get the best price on a Cordaroys:
- Sign up for our email list: New subscribers typically receive a welcome discount. Visit cordaroys.com and look for the signup prompt.
- Shop our sale events: We run our biggest promotions during Black Friday/Cyber Monday, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and around the holidays. These are the deepest discounts of the year.
- Follow us on social: We occasionally share exclusive discount codes for our social media followers.
- Bundle accessories: Adding a Waterproof Protector or Booster Pack to your order at checkout sometimes qualifies for bundle pricing.
We don't recommend waiting indefinitely — our inventory on specific colors and sizes does sell out, and sale pricing on sold-out items doesn't help much.
Do you offer military, first responder, or student discounts?
We appreciate everyone who serves our communities and country. For questions about military, first responder, or student discount availability, please contact our team directly — policies on these can change and we want to give you the most accurate answer:
